Abstract: In order to describe the nonlinear viscoplastic deformation characteristics of rock in the accelerated creep stage, firstly, an evolution equation of the damage variable with stress and time in the accelerated creep stage was derived by integrating the damage law formula proposed by Kachanov. Then, the viscous parameter in the ideal viscoplastic model was replaced by effective viscous parameter to establish the viscoplastic damage body, and it was connected with the six-element model in the generalized Burgers model to obtain a new rock damage creep model. The three-dimensional creep equation of the model was derived based on plastic mechanics and the effectiveness of the model was verified by triaxial compression creep test data on sandstone and sandy mudstone in Bojianghaizi coal mine. The results show that the theoretical curve obtained by using the damage creep model agrees well with the creep test curve, and the new damage creep model can better describe the nonlinear viscoplastic deformation characteristics of the two kinds of rock in the accelerated creep stage.
