Abstract: In order to reduce occupational hazards generated during operation of large hydropower stations, on-site measured data for many years were compared with results of occupational health tests, and with two large hydropower stations under the CHN Energy group Dadu River General Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. as examples, their data of occupational hazards and occupational health examination results of operators exposed to such hazards were collected. Then, risk degree of the hazards and their main ways were comprehensively analyzed before control measures and suggestions for hydropower industry were put forward. The results show that the main occupational hazard factors are noise and power frequency electric field. With measures like optimizing working time, wearing suitable protective articles and reasonably arranging equipment in the design stage being taken, occupational hazard factors on the site can be reduced, thus reducing harm to human body.
