Abstract: For the sake of preventing traffic accidents caused by the driver's attentional blink, simulated driving experiments were performed.Effects of factors including stimulus color and time interval on driver's attentional blink were studied.Based on the experiment data, the differences in drivers' behavioral indexes (reaction time and accuracy) and ERP indexes (P3 amplitude and latency) under different conditions were analyzed. It was observed that compared with the other five conditions, the condition with yellow placard and 1 s SOA presented the worst behavioral performance(reaction time prolonged and accuracy decreased) and the P3 latency delayed, the P3 amplitude decreased in the parietal lobe. The results suggest that the attentional blink affects badly divers' brain processing of driving events and the allocation of cognitive resources, which decreases driving safety.
