Abstract:

To reveal the research context, hotspot distribution, and frontier trends in the field of chemistry laboratory safety, CiteSpace and VOSviewer software were applied to conduct a comprehensive bibliometric analysis on 388 Chinese and English articles included in China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and the Web of Science (WOS) core collection between 2010 and 2025. The research findings indicate that the global volume of publications on chemistry laboratory safety has shown an overall growth trend, but the development motivations and patterns differ significantly between China and other countries. Research abroad exhibits steady growth, forming a diverse academic network centering around the United States with multi-country participation and balanced contributions from both enterprises and universities. In contrast, domestic research demonstrates a typical "event-driven" characteristic, with research efforts highly concentrated in universities and insufficient collaboration between industry, academia, and research institutions. The research approach in China focuses more on macro-level governance through "system construction" and "standardized management." According to keywords, "safety management" and "safety education" are recognized as core foundational elements both in China and beyond, while "green chemistry" has emerged as a common new trend.
