Abstract: For the sake of studying the effects of intervention strategies on habitual unsafe behavior of construction workers, and improving the safety of construction activities, the SEM-SD method was used to identify and intervene factors influencing construction workers' habitual unsafe behavior.Firstly,a SEM of habitual unsafe behavior was built to determine the path coefficients between the influencing factors and the intervention strategies. Then, the SD model was used to simulate the effects of intervention strategies on influencing factors.Study conclusion shows that as a result of implementing the intervention strategies, both the level of safety value and the level of safety ability of construction workers are raised significantly, the levels of unsafe psychology, unsafe physiology, and unsafe behavior show a parabolic form,i.e.they rise first and then decline, and habitual unsafe behavior of construction workers is effectively modified

Key words: construction workers, habitual unsafe behavior, intervention strategies, system dynamics(SD), structural equation model(SEM)
