Abstract: Unsafe acts are the direct causes of the accidents. In order to clarify and unify the definitions and judgement criteria of unsafe acts in HFACS and 24Model, a comparative analysis was used and a corresponding relationship in unsafe acts between HFACS and 24Model was established and a case study was showed to describe the application of the corresponding approach. The results show that unsafe acts defined by HFACS can be associated with the unsafe acts defined by 24Model based on the corresponding relationship, and the judgement criteria are unified by the corresponding relationship.

Key words: human factors analysis and classification system(HFACS), comparative study, accident causation “2-4”model(24Model), unsafe acts, accident modelling approaches, case study
