Abstract: To explore the influence of bedding structure on the evolution of fracture in coal seam and gas seepage characteristics, and to optimize the design of gas extraction a simulation study was carried out on samples of coal different in bedding by using the RFPA2D-Flow software. The results show that the all coal samples different in bedding end in shear failure but their final failure patterns have obvious difference are different from each other, that the simulation result of oblique bedding coal sample conforms basically to the test results, verifying the effectiveness of the simulation.
