Abstract: CRH express was a newly-born business emerging along with the development of CRH. Since its launch, CRH express had maintained an active developing momentum with extremely broad prospects, but on the other hand, brought greater pressure on railway safety. In order to ensure the safety of high-speed rail transportation, this paper discussed the problems that had arisen since the launch of high-speed rail express business. According to the field investigation, the potential safety risks and problems in safety management during its operation was analyzed. Based on the responsibility of safety supervision and referring to relevant research results, some suggestions were put forward to strengthen the safety supervision of CRH express fast freight. The results show that there are some problemsin the process of CRH express transportation, e.g., weak management of loading and unloading operations, loopholes in security inspection, low controlling level of the joint department. It is necessary to improve the understanding of the importance of CRH express in safety work, clarify the key points of safety supervision in CRH express fast freight, take innovative safety supervision mode, and establish risk analysis and warning mechanism.
