Research on relationship between coal mine senior managers' safety leadership and leading style

Abstract: The objective of the paper is to analyze the differences in safety leadership among coal mine senior managers of different leadership styles. Based on the questionnaire response of 221 miners from 6 coal mines, a raliability analysis and a validity analysis and a correlation analysis were made for the safety leadership scale and the leadership style scale by using SPSS24.0 software. The relationship between coal mine senior managers' safety leadership and leadership style was studied by using the multiple regression analysis method. Results show that senior managers' safety leadership correlates significantly with different dimensions of leading style, that the charisma, intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration of the transformational leadership style predict remarkably and positively safety accomplishment and safety guidance, that charismatic leadership and individualized consideration of the transformational leadership style predict remarkably and positively safety caring, that charismatic leadership and intellectual stimulation of the transformational leadership style predict remarkably and positively safety motivation, that charismatic leadership of the transformational leadership style predict remarkably and positively safety motivation safety controlling, and that the contingency reward and active exemplary management of the transactional leadership style predict remarkably and positively safety motivation and safety controlling.
