Influence of polygonal wheel on safety of Subwayin curve with small radius

Abstract: The polygonal wheel is one of the common diseases of train wheels, which threatens the safety of train operation. In order to improve the safety of the subway in the area of curve with small radius,the influence of polygonal wheel in the curve with small radius on the safety of subway was studied.Firstly, based on multi-body dynamics simulation, the vehicle-rail multi-body dynamics model was established. Then,derailment coefficient and rate of wheel load reduction were used as evaluation indexes to analyze train operation safety under the effect of different wave depth and amplitude.And the wave depth safety lines corresponding to wheel polygons of each order were proposed. The results show that with the increase of wave depth, the safety index of subway linearly increases.With the increase of order, the safety index of train increases at first and then decreases. When the order of wheel polygons is 6, the safety index of wheel reaches the maximum.
