Abstract: Local railway is an important part of national railways, and the condition of local railway′s safety has significant impact on the national railways′ safety. Although the current safety situation of local railway is steady, there are many problems about supervision and safety management. The current situation was described in the paper and based on analyzing the problems of local railway, suggestion was made to strengthen safety supervision. The results show that joint efforts should be made by enterprises, local government and industry regulatory department to promote the safety supervision of local railway.
