Abstract: In order to grasp objectively and assess dynamically the risk in confined space working, firstly,a risk index system was established, the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method and AHP were applied, and a comprehensive risk assessment model of confined space working was built with the dangerous gas volume fraction as the main index. Then,an on-line dangerous gas monitoring system was established, and the real-time and dynamical risk assessment for the confined space working was realized. Finally, the risk assessment model was applied to a drainage pool of drainage system. The results show that the risk assessment model can calculate in real-time and assess dynamically the risk in confined space working, and that for working in the confined space, the volume fraction of the dangerous gas is the main factor affecting the risk, and control of dangerous gas volume fraction is the key measure for ensuring the safety of confined space working.
