Abstract: In order to alleviate talent shortage in safety emergency and occupational health, a model for integrated construction of safety science and engineering majors in colleges and universities was studied. Through analysis on development status of three majors, safety engineering, emergency technology and management, and occupational health engineering, advantages and disadvantages of independent construction and integrated construction were discussed. Then, a new model of "three specialties in one" integrated construction was developed, of which training plan reform served as driving force, optimization of curriculum system as focus, integration of faculties as basis and teaching practice orientation as direction. The results show that this model can continuously cultivate "proficient and comprehensive" talents with professional"foundation + core + characteristics" capabilities across the country by optimizing"2+4+4" curriculum system, compound faculty, and innovative teaching practice framework, and fundamentally improve academic construction level of safety science and engineering majors in domestic universities.
